His story

A guide for those seeking depth, healing, and meaning.

Born near Tel-Aviv in 1967, Oren was caught up in the twin traumas of the constant threat of war and a wounded family who passed on the intergenerational legacy of abuse. Even though he excelled academically and athletically, his tender nature was deeply marked by the chaos surrounding him. He was learning about the effects of trauma firsthand.

After graduating from high school, Oren entered the military service as all Israelis must and was selected for an elite intelligence unit. His service gave him experience with high-stress leadership and team dynamics under pressure. He witnessed the skill required to lead, and also what happens when leaders are so embroiled in their own traumatic histories that they are unable to truly relate to people under their command.

Deciding the time had come for a more forgiving environment, Oren came to the US in 1997 to study Clinical psychology at Pepperdine University. In his second year of studies, he experienced an unexpected rupture with some close friends, and this shock opened the deep well of trauma he had managed to keep underground until then. Through a recommendation, he found himself in the care of a therapist whose own healing had taught her that deep, nonjudgmental listening was at the heart of the therapeutic accompaniment that supports mending wounds. These years settled Oren into the conviction that true receptive presence is the foundation of healing. He was also learning what he wanted to embody as a counselor. As he was continuing in therapy, he completed his studies, becoming a marriage and family therapist and entering the path of helping others with what he was receiving.

Oren’s always-curious mind also drew him to study the discoveries of relational neuroscience with Dr. Daniel Siegel, quantum physics, and interpersonal mindfulness, enriching his understanding of how attentive presence leads to emotional safety which can unleash the abundant healing capacity in others as well as bringing out the creativity, fulfillment, and effectiveness in work groups.

Weaving the wisdom gained from his studies with his lifelong experience of trauma and healing, Oren has the beautiful capacity to walk with you on whatever path calls.
